Above is a picture of how my reins start and finish.  They start off with the thin braid, then go to the wider flat braid for the body of the reins and then finish with the thin braid again.

The 8mm reins are heavier then the 6mm but there is not a lot of difference in the width - 8mm reins are 1' wide and the 6mm reins are 3/4' wide.

The polyester is made from the same material as my halters - its just twisted into normal rope. 
So they have the same qualities as my halters - strong, UV resitant and mold/mildue resistant.  These reins become very soft with use and frequent washing - just with the hose or water trough!

My silver reins are the most popular and are very strong, become very soft with use, and last a long time.

My reins are 7' in length, but if you would like longer or shorter reins, please let me know!

My Running reins are made with the same plaits shown above. It has a brass clip that clips to the breastplate and two ends to tie to the bit.  The reins run through the bit with pressure, creating downward movement of the horses head.
